Pool Safety Inspections

Due to new pool regulations from the State Government, as of the 1st December 2010 pool safety certificates need to be issued for properties being sold or leased.
More information on the Department of Infrastructure & Planning website.

A pool safety certificate (compliance certificate Form 23) is different to a pool approval. The pool safety certificate refers to existing pool fences only, complying to the current pool safety standards.

A pool approval refers to lodgement of plans along with being approved & issued to council. A  form 17 is issued when the building work is finalised & compliant.

Bonafide Building Approvals services the surrounding suburbs of Morningside with these pool safety certificates, not approvals.

The process for a compliance certificate with Bonafide Building Approvals is to book an inspection with our certifier Pool safety inspection booking form. Payment must be received before inspection, you may request an invoice to be sent to you or come into our office.

If the fence complies with pool safety standards you will be issued with a Form 23 Pool safety certificate.
If the fencing doesn’t comply you will be issued with a form 26 nonconformity notice with advice on how to fix the issues, then to book another inspection once fixed (fees apply).

We advise you to view the Departments website on Common failures on pool fencing this may help understand what is required when complying with the pool safety standards.
